Felicity Macleod-Arnold 

Founder, Director, Head of Marketing & Sales and Chief Operations Officer (COO).  

 

During my time at University I successfully started my own business with a mobile app providing real-time and relevant advertising for students enabling small businesses to reach their target market through a digital platform. Following VC funding of £25K and thousands of downloads I ran the business for over two years. 

 

A year into development, securing finance and signing 36 clients, I produced a marketing campaign, that included a social media strategy, to successfully launch Student Playground to the students at Newcastle and Northumbria University. 

 

This journey was challenging, exciting and rewarding. It opened my eyes to the practicalities of starting up and maintaining a new company. Through my experience, I learnt the passion needed to drive ideas forward and how barriers are only there to be overcome.

 

Being involved within the ever-changing industry of technology further helped me to understand the importance of up-to-date and accurate market research and dynamic ways of engaging with new communities.
